This great wavy style was the perfect look for Chyler at the 2007 American Music Awards. Her hair length was cut to shoulder level and her top and side sections were angle layered and thinned out to create this lovely natural wavy shape. This style is perfect for a night out on the town and will be simple and fun to re-create.

1: Apply Mousse
Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.
2: Apply Moisturizer
Apply a small amount of moisturizer to the palm of your hand and distribute it evenly through the mid-lengths and the ends. Moisturizer will help your hair to maintain good condition and protect your strands from heat as you style.
3: Comb Your Hair
Comb your hair into the desired direction that you require for styling.
4: Flip Your Head And Use A Diffuser And Your Fingers
Tip your head upside down and move the diffuser up to the ends, motioning the diffuser to the scalp in circular movements. Make sure the blow-dryer speed is on low and try not to completely dry the hair off. Leaving a little bit of moisture will allow the hair to dry naturally.
5: Part To The Left
Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your left eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even left part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.
6: Scrunch The Hair Using Gel And Your Fingers
Apply your gel to the ends of your hair and then lightly pinch and scrunch the hair before allowing your gel to set.
7: Apply Hairspray
To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
TIP: This style will best be re-created in naturally wavy or curly hair.
